Time Machine

Lately, Facebook and linkedin.com have been bringing
memories to the surface, from long ago and faraway.
............
At dinner the other night, (with old friends from high school)
there were phrases thrown around that I hadn't heard in years:
"Melon Balls!"
"Bell Café."
"Herb Salad."
"Salad? Not brownies? Yes. Salad."
"Wo Hops!"
Mrs. L: "Honey, don't we still have that salad bowl up in the attic?"
Mr. L: "Yup."

Here it is.... it's a Legend. And it's beautiful.
(floor stand included.)

Here is an oldie probably before you were born "Wheres the Beef!' I'm not even sure when we used it probably just randomly followed by laughter.

First off, I love that you are out to dinner with high school friends. So very cool. Secondly, wow. Love the salad bowl/stand. Want it right next to my oak table in my sun drenched dining room on my 16 acres of protected woodlands. Lastly, I'm very curious about "Wo Hops!" Is it a food or an emotional exclamation? Our favorite response in the 80's was "doy hay!" And speaking in pig latin, of course.

for those who don't know, or have never been... Wo Hops is an old classic chinese restaurant on Mott St. in Chinatown. Half the fun was getting there, the other half was the experience of eating there. ;-) xoh

Now, what the hell is that doing in the attic?! ;-) It's FABOO!

Many nights after class at F.I.T. were spent at Wo Hops. And I'm still alive to tell about it.

Now this is exactly why I canceled Facebook. So the past, and people from it, can stay there.
