A LOL when I scrolled down and saw the pic of McCain! Yeah, this seems way crazy. How is a 1st grader going to interpret "a text to self connect"?? This looks like more homework for mom and dad then kiddo.

Talking about homework, my twins had to create "moles" - to hand stitch moles to represent a unit of energy...for high school chemistry...plan to blog about there little moles. Love to be in that classroom full of hand made moles.
Very clever. Clever homework at any age is what I love as a parent. Just more proof that I need to go back to 1st grade.

i read and re-read that assignment - at first i thought it was for 2 weeks - but then you said it's 1 night - sheesh - life just get's harder anyways - leave the 6 year olds alone, i say.
or they're gonna look like john.
I am sooooo sick of homework! We are trying desperately to play catch up since my son has only been in school 5 days out of the last 3 weeks..UGH!
You should grade this and return it because there are grammos and the syntax is off. Grrr to this teacher and blame No Child Left Behind.
