I found this leaf skeleton.
I went right to the sweet spot in my kitchen... you know, that spot where all the natural light pours in through the window, reflecting off the white house next door and bouncing off my old white formica counter.
It looked kind of blah to me.
So I decided to try a different surface. The closest thing I could find, was the pancake griddle. It was perfect! It had just enough reflective-ness to turn the brown to bronze, and the darkness drew out the delicate veins of the leaf.
Sometimes, the most important part of the creative process, is to be brave & try new things.

Wow - a pancake griddle? Who would have thought!
Heidi- I love these photos very beautiful and masterpieces! Hmmm... don't you wonder how many people passed this little treasure running from one place to the next and missed the treasure at their feet.
Pancakes must be fun at your house.
You sure know how to try new things.
