...and all you other folks out there who celebrate Rabbit Rabbit Day:
I started noticing this baby bunny about 4 weeks ago, hanging out under my tree. It was the size of a mouse. I am NOT kidding. It has grown and prospered by eating our clover. (We are proud to have a chemical-free, grass-free, weeds-galore lawn.)
Baby Bunny has learned alot since moving to our tree:
1) 3 kids screaming "BUNNY BUNNY!!!!!" to it's face, will no longer make him flinch. Even slightly. He goes right on eating clover.
2) Clover is much better than baby carrots, or a bowl of fresh, cool water.
3) The mailman is scary.
4) Cool rain feels really good on hot fur.
5) The crazy lady will come out of the house with her camera, if he stands on the front steps and does something cute.
That's all for now.

Obscene Ginger
or sliced thin between bites of sushi...
even boiled in a pot as ginger tea. But having been ignored lately, my ginger started to scream for attention. By growing in an obscene fashion.
Does anyone know how to care for growing ginger? Can ginger survive, here in a climate of such bizarre extremes? Should I let it stay in, or bring it out? Plant it, or leave it?

Mina
This a note from Mina, who is 96 years old and lives across the street. Every other week or so, we do food shopping for her. In return, she likes to leave us treats by our door. This morning, she shuffled over in her pj's and left us this note, attached to a tupperware wrapped 3 times in saran wrap. Inside were madeline cookies & 3 chocolate covered maltballs. The note says:
Thank you for wanting to shop for me, but Ed called to take an order. Perhaps some dried prunes. I love them! P R U N E S.
Fondly, Mina
Don't you just LOVE Mina?
Here she is, reading books to the varmints.

First Blogiversary
On this, the occasion of my first blogiversary, I'd like to say, from the bottom of my heart... thank-you.
When this all began, exactly one year ago, my first post was about digging deep.
http://faboolosity.blogspot.com/2007/07/stuff.html
I'd like to dig deep again, & bring up thanks, to YOU who read & comment on my daily or weekly visions. You, this handful of sweet, quirky, brilliant, supportive and creative folk.....You have inspired me, and encouraged me. You make me feel connected, when really, I spend a good part of my days & nights (working?) alone in front of this box.
I wish you all continued joy, inspiration, creativity & beauty, my friends.
And again...I thank-you.

Take My Book, Please!
This book was so rich and juicy with imagery, scents & flavors, that it kept me wanting more until I was in sensory overload.
I thoroughly enjoyed every single word. SOMEone out there in bloggyland recommended it to me, so to keep the good book karma rolling, I decided to send it to one of YOU. All you have to do, is leave me a comment, suggesting a book for my next summer reading experience, to be eligible to win.
Contest ends friday at 5pm est.
Good Luck!

The Day That Farah Fawcett Appeared in Our Basement
In a bizarre chain of events, my old buddy RW was in town visiting, & we had just had an intellectual discussion about who could possibly be the Farrah Fawcett of the 2000's. We tossed around Jennifer Aniston, (no) Brittany Spears, (nope) and decided that NO ONE could replace Farrah. Then THIS appeared in my basement art gallery. An authentic Farrah poster from 1977. Turns out that Hubby put it up there, in honor of his impending elementary school reunion.
This was my chance to run away.
But I'm glad I stayed. We laughed, cried, screamed & ate. We saw ourselves in our kids. It was amazing, healing & joyful. Hubby will be up for hours recounting every conversation. C& K: our excursion was the highlight of my day!
Here is the motley crew trying to behave long enough for pictures...
