I Want to Design Your Book Cover for Free.

Why?
Because lately, I've been waxing poetic about print.

I like the smell of new books and old books.
I love how magazines sound when I flip through them.
I still read the Sunday New York Times ON PAPER.

Although I have
designed at least 200 magazines, and many brochures,
logos and promotional materials,

I have only designed one Book Cover:

Take a chance.
Save your budget.
Help a friend round out her portfolio.
Get something for FREE.
Enter now...

Giveaway Rules:
Leave me a comment below, describing the book you need a cover for.
If only one person responds, YOU WIN.
If more than one person responds,
Jean will help me choose the winner.
(THANKS, JEAN.)

The *winner will receive no less than 3 original sketches,
and upon approval, one final print-ready, book cover file.

*The winner will need to have to have the authority from a
legitimate publisher to hire me, of course.

I want to do a book about my crazy shorehouse town's houses and tents. But I'd have to take a rain check on your generous offer...since given my fail at work/life balance that book's about 20 years (give or take) from being written. :-)

I'd love to get a cover for my fantasy superhero novel, set in a city built up in and around the bones of a titan. I'm currently querying for agents, but I'm also considering self-publishing online.

Thanks,
Mike Underwood

Vampire Celeste St.Ange is an a race to recover a stolen heart-shaped flask. It is the reliquary important to her bloodline's survival. While trying to avoid her second death at the hands of a killer bent on getting reliquary, she must protect those she cares about. If that weren't stressful enough, she is forced into making a decision between her debonair vampiric boyfriend and the human thief trying to steal her heart.

Blood Thief is a paranormal romance/urban fantasy novel. Readers of Charlaine Harris, Kim Harrison, Laurell K. Hamilton and Stephenie Meyer will identify with the female vampire lead and fall in love with the men in her life.

Blood Thief is in the process of being queried to agents. It does not,as yet, have an agent or publisher, nor does it have a cover :)

Not sure if you're up for historical romance but I'll soon be regaining the rights to Samurai Captive and thought I might self pub it this time.

Blurb:

On display in the front window of a Japanese brothel, indentured British maid Hannah Connolly captures the eye of samurai Sanada Katsuhiro. Katsu buys Hannah and takes her home, much to the annoyance of his best friend and sometime lover Masato.

Hannah doesn't need to be bound with silk ropes to keep her from escaping (though she's not about to complain when she is). She's intrigued by the handsome warrior and more intrigued by the thought of watching him and his samurai friend do to each other what she's only imagined.

Katsu plans to return Hannah to the foreign settlement at Yokohama and have her spy on an opium smuggler. But can he truly let go of the captive who has touched his heart?

This sounds great. A friend directed me to your blog, and I am so happy she did. I have a completed young adult paranormal romance novel that I am considering self-publishing. The major thing holding me back from self publishing - I don't have any idea what to do about the cover. So, in a nutshell, here is what it's about:

When Nadia Laurel gets ready to greet her senior year in high school, she's expecting a lot of things: getting to experience a new school, meeting with new and old friends, school dances and parties, and heading ever closer to graduation. What she doesn't expect is to literally meet the man of her dreams, find out she's reincarnated from his lost love, or learn that death and life are a thin line to walk.

Nadia's always had unusual quirks that only her closest friends knew about. For as long as she could remember, she had a strange untapped power over the weather, an ability her friends had come to accept without question. When she starts having reoccurring dreams of a long time past where she sacrificed herself for the safety of all those on Earth, only the slightest eyebrow is raised. However, when the people from her dreams appear in her real life and turn out to be Immortal beings from another planet, the lines between imagination and reality start to blur. Add in a destined romance, knowledge and abilities beyond her belief, not to mention unexpected zombie attacks, and you've got a recipe for adventure. Nadia wasn't alone with her resurrection, and she finds she must make some difficult decisions or risk the lives she endeavored to save 200 years before.

That you have it. Thanks!

In Easy to Epic: One Woman’s Arizona Trail 300 Adventure and Beyond , I race my dream mountain bike event, which inspires me to incorporate adventures into my daily life after the race. I bike-pack alone on the AZ300, through snow, hot dust, and herds of javelinas. I shoulder my bike and scramble down icy rocks in biking shoes of limited traction capability. I clap my hands and shout at a bull blocking the narrow trail. He doesn’t move.

Here's a link to the full text of my book pitch:

I'm querying agents now. Thanks for this opportunity!

The cover for my next book needs to be my guy and girl, the guy here, girl in the other world, separated by an invisible wall. Darn that whole alternate reality that is keeping them apart. Jason standing on one side of a rock wall, staring up at it while Lily is on the other side, contemplating how to get Jason back.

The link is for the first book. I'd love if I could get you to design the 2nd!

I'm writing a gluten-free, allergen-free cookbook that focuses on treats--cozy single-serving desserts like cookies and cupcakes. The cookbook will cover the course of four seasons and will have seasonal ink drawings (done by an artist friend) inside, but I have no cover design. Would love to work with you on that.

I really would love to have a coffee table book with the cover designed by you of my illustrations...and then another book with your fabulous alphabets.
I could get a publisher in a heart beat.
Hope you are well....I have missed coming round here.
