Empty Canvas

Look at this lamp... it's one of a pair, mid-century, rescued from my mother-in-law, re-wired, etc. See this new linen-covered shade that i bought 3 months ago? The one that still has the cellophane on it? I haven't found a decent medium to draw on it with! I found some beautiful mettalic pens & markers, but the liquid spreads out on the fabric. Any suggestions from you brilliant & crafty folk out there? I can't just leave them white, they are taunting me EVERY time i walk past them.

I don't have any advice, though. :( I was too taken with the lamp to even notice!

Hmm... I did a shade with an ultra fine point sharpie once and it worked just fine, but I'm not sure what type of fabric the shade was...

It's a beautiful lamp. I wish I knew more about painting, then I could help, but I don't...sorry.

on second thought... it kinda looks funky in this pic with the cellophane on it! Maybe i'll just take the Home Goods price label off the side, & let it be. ;-)

I saw a beautiful lamp shade painted with very watered down water colors, and when the light was turned on it looked so different than when the light was off.
