Shea Ducks

You folks don't know this about me, but I sometimes torture myself over whether I should post certain pics or not. Like this one for example. I shot this from a moving Long Island Railroad train, heading west, into New York City. We were passing through Flushing Meadow Park, which is where Shea Stadium is. (Home of the famous NY Mets) Shea Stadium is going to be blown-up this fall, to make way for brand-new stadium, City Field. There are many emotions attached to this pic for me, on so many levels, but it all probably means NOTHING to you, my blog readers. So why post it? Is the color nice? Yes. Is the composition lovely with the ducks following the shadow of the electric lines? Yes. But is it blogworthy? I just don't know. Will I be there to see this holy landmark get blown to bits? Absolutely!

Here is a sweet memory of the first time we took all the varmints to Shea...

Here is a pic of the new Citifield Stadium, being built. (sorry for the train wires)

Window Palette

I love when this tiny set of chimes catches the early morning light...
1) because the varmints did a great job painting these at a birthday party.
2) because the color of the trim on the house looks really good with the chimes.
3) the strings from the chimes kind of accent the thousands of phone wires attached to the house next door.
4) directly below the chimes, you can see a single rose in a spotlight of sunshine.

Luncheon

It was lunchtime at my Mother-in-law's. Yes, the food was delicious... fresh gazpacho, shrimp salad, lentil salad, and cherry pie for dessert. Most importantly, it was another opportunity to shoot some more mid-century lovelies....

I covet this everyday silverware. (it's worth the click to see the detail.)

Loving this floor lamp...

This toy has been played with by countless kids over countless decades. The paint probably has lead in it. (what's left of it. Hahaha!!)

Who is too sexy for his plaid jacket?

On the North Side

Feeling a little mossy today.
